Overview

Wardens are extremely powerful creatures that spawn in Annunaki Genesis. They are big, tough, and very rewarding. There are currently 8 wardens in the mod, all of which spawn at the maximum level on your server and spawn in different locations around the map. They cannot be tamed and will not attack unless provoked, but the essence they drop is used to craft a matrix which is required to tame a celestial. Each warden has special attacks and unique bleeding effect, but no longer have the ability to spawn disciples. Each warden however can call nearby wild animals to attack you (Including Badass, Apex, Boss, Alpha and Prime Alphas). Because of this, it is suggested to clear the nearby area before attacking the Wardens.

When you get near a warden, the music from the Megapithicus Arena will begin to play alerting you that one is around (Be careful as this music is very loud and is not affected by user settings of Volume Control unless re-applied through the Options Menu).

All wardens deal a flat amount of damage per hit aswell as activating unique bleeding effects (seen as a black colored countdown in the buff/debuff area) every 30 seconds (dependent on Warden). It is suggested to bring Health Boosters, Detox Elixers, Stamina Boosters and Oxygen Boosters to battle, changing on which Warden is being attacked.

Nilloc (Argentavis)

Nilloc is the warden of the sky. He is a large black and white argent. There is no real way to know where to look if hunting for him as he could basically be anywhere on the map. He has the ability to drain stamina and is a fairly heavy hitter. For battling Niloc, it is recommended to bring Stamina & Health boosters aswell as several strong fliers (Such as Dragons/Wyverns and Drakes).

Rawaiim (Giganotosaurus)

Rawaiim, Warden of the Mountains

Rawaiim is the warden of the mountains. He is a black and purple Giganotosaurus. He will always be either on top or around the base of the various mountains, but can be found wandering the surrounding area of the mountains (including Jungles). Rawaiim's attacks are similar of a Gigantosaurus' in which they will cause bleeding every bite in addition to every wardens unique bleed (Black countdown). Because of this, some users consider Rawaiim to be the hardest of all Wardens to defeat since Health Boosters do not work when the animal is bleeding. Certain other mods (for example: PG's Dragon Gods) include some items that can heal even during bleeding. If such a server has these mods, it is recommended to carry those items on you too. If the server does not have these mods, take great care when attacking Rawaiim. He is also capable of forcing Torpor on your creature at the average rate of 1% per second, so bring Detox Elixers too!

Bokito (Megapithecus)

Bokito is the warden of the snow. He is a red and black Megapithecus. He has the ability to throw a boulder as well as do a spin attack. Be careful, the boulder does a lot of damage. He is considered the easiest to farm by killing all the creatures in the snow biome repeatedly, you will eventually get Bokito to spawn. Bokito himself has a strong melee attack with heavy knockback, but because of his sheer size, it's easier to escape from him should the fight take a sour turn.

Mormaw (Mosasaurus)

Mormaw is the warden of the depths. He normally is seen in the mid-range to deep ocean and can be anywhere around the map that borders along the edge. He will drain stamina and oxygen during the fight, so it's heavily recommended to bring Health, Stamina and Oxygen Boosters to the battle. It's suggested that killing large numbers of all sea bearing creatures will cause him to spawn, but some speculate that only killing Mosas is required.

Note: Dinos not capable of drowning (like a Dragon and Megapithicus) will not take damage from suffocation. However, they will not regenerate the oxygen which means that it will leave the icon at the top of your screen while riding. Using an oxygen booster will fix this.

Karkinos (Sarco)

Karkinos is the warden of the rivers. He is a large green and black Sarco and has the ability to drain Stamina of nearby attackers. Because of this, it is suggested to bring Health and Stamina boosters to battle. Karkinos is usually found within the swamp and river regions of the ark, but can occasionally be found wandering around the nearby areas (although very rare).

Gnashor (Carbonemys)

Gnashor, Warden of the Beach

Gnashor is the warden of the beach. He is a large red and black "Magma-Like" turtle and has the ability to drain stamina and health with a fiery breath attack. Gnashor is most commonly found along the west, south and east beaches of TheIsland, and the inland beaches of various islands on TheCenter. When fighting Gnashor, it is suggested to bring Health and Stamina Boosters. It is suggested that taking a hard clearing animal (such as a Wyvern) and killing everything on the beaches may cause him to spawn.

Smough (Doedicerous)

Smough is the Warden of the Isle. He can be found anywhere within the islands on TheCenter and can mostly be found in the jungle areas surrounding the Redwood Forest on TheIsland. He is a large yellow Doedicerous and has a heavy knockback attack in battle. It is suggested to bring Health Boosters when fighting him.

Perdition (Rhino)

Perdition is warden of the plains. He is a large, green Wooly Rhino and he has the ability to drain stamina in battle. It is suggested to bring Health and Stamina boosters when fighting him. Despite being a Wooly Rhino, Perdition doesn't spawn in the Ice Biome or surrounding jungles, but can actually be found (mostly) around the jungles near the Swamp Biome (on TheIsland) and jungles of various islands (on TheCenter).

Perdition can be difficult to fight if using smaller dinos, as it is possible to become stuck within his sheer size (as compared to Bokito, whose legs you can dive between). This can become problematic if you are losing the battle as you cannot normally escape and cant run away by foot as you may be killed whilst disembarking from your animal. For this, it is suggested to use larger animals or even some Boss Animals like Megapithicus' or Dragons.

Drops

All wardens drop items when killed which will either be in their inventory, or the inventory of the animal performing the killing blow. To date, In the inventory, you will always find one piece of warden armor (Randomized item and quality), 15 of the warden's essence, and a large amount of high quality items. All items will have varying quality from common to Celestial/Ascendant, but there seems to be a higher chance for higher quality item drops.

Drops to find (Needs Completion)

  • Full Warden armor set (One item from set per warden, which is always randomized, so you may end up with two of the same gloves, but of differing quality etc. You will also get a full set from killing the Warchief)
  • 15 Warden Essence (You will get randomized essence from the Warchief)
  • Various tools (Lance, pickaxes, hatchets, etc)
  • Various Annunaki ammo (Typically metal Annunaki arrows, roughly 150 of Fire, Ice and Poison Arrows.)
  • Raw Meat and Raw Prime Meat
  • Various other resources and items. (Most Wardens carry a recurring theme of Gasoline, Gel, Jerky, Metal Ingots and more. You can also gain certain resources depending on the warden, for example, you can gain large numbers of Keratin from the Carbonemys Warden when harvesting the bodies)
